Job Description:

Georgetown University Hospital, a 609-bed facility and teaching
institute affiliated with Georgetown University Medical School,
is seeking a Medical Director for their Epilepsy Center. The
Medical Director will have the opportunity to build upon an already
successful epilepsy program and develop a comprehensive epilepsy
center that is recognized as a regional referral center for the
Chesapeake Bay area.

The Neurosciences Center at Georgetown University Hospital has
consistently been ranked among the best in the nation by U.S.
News and World Report and offers sophisticated diagnostic and
treatment technologies for patients with a wide range of medical
conditions including: epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic
lateral sclerosis, neuromuscular disorders, Alzheimer's disease,
Parkinson's disease, sleep disorders and headaches.

The Medical Director shall exercise leadership in program development,
refinement, and referral base growth of the epilepsy clinical
service area and will have primary responsibility for the coordination
of all clinical activities related to epilepsy. The Medical Director
will coordinate, promote and foster an environment conducive to
ongoing epilepsy-related research. The Medical Director will
assist in the development and implementation of long-range and
short-range plans in reference to the Epilepsy Center and will
serve as primary communicator to physicians who are current or
potential users of Epilepsy services.

Requirements for the role include a medical degree from an accredited
university,
board certification by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology,
fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology and/or Epilepsy
and a minimum of seven years clinical experience in the field
of Epilepsy. Candidates must have a successful track record
in funded research and the ability to build strong relationships
internally and externally. We require that all candidates qualify
for Associate Professor level.
