of Medicine-Urbana-Champaign and Carle Foundation Hospital

The Mills Breast Cancer Institute (MBCI), a partnership between
the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Carle Foundation
Hospital and Carle Clinic Association, is seeking a breast cancer
physician scientist to lead this new breast cancer research institute.
This is a unique opportunity for an imaginative individual who
recognizes the scientific, clinical and other creative possibilities
inherent in a young, ambitious program with high expectations
and robust support. MBCI includes a new 60,000 square foot research
and treatment facility, recruitment of additional MD and PhD breast
cancer scientists and expansion of active breast cancer research,
treatment and teaching programs.

The Director of the Mills Breast Cancer Institute will be responsible
for overall administration of MBCI including continued development
of breast cancer research, recruitment of MD and PhD and research
support faculty, identification and selection of appropriate translational
research projects and partners, and expansion of extramural funding,
Successful candidates will be an MD or MD/PhD with board certification
in appropriate specialty with an academic rank of Associate or
full Professor or equivalent. Candidates must have a successful
track record of active breast cancer translational research activities,
peer-reviewed publications and extramural research funding.
