Job Description:
William Beaumont Hospitals, in tandem with the new Oakland University
School of Medicine, is seeking a new Chief of the Division of
Neurology. The Chief will lead and develop a substantially increased
academic neurology division that will meet the requirements of
a medical school, AGCME based residency program and the neurological
clinical specialty programs of William Beaumont Hospital. William Beaumont Hospital (Royal Oak), with 1061 beds, is consistently
ranked in 9 of the 16 categories on the prestigious 2007 U.S.
News & World Report "Best Hospitals" list including the neurology/neurosurgery
program. A nationally recognized leader of neurology is required
for Beaumont's strong programs in stroke, epilepsy, radiation
oncology, neurosurgery and dementia. Research, teaching and clinical
care are required components of this program and position. Candidates for this position will be highly regarded as a national
leader in neurology with current American Board Certification
in Psychiatry and Neurology. A successful track record in funded
research, prior administrative experience, preferably as a residency
program director, excellent clinical skills and program development
skills are required. Successful candidates will demonstrate a
collaborative leadership style, excellent facilitation and interpersonal
skills and the ability to successfully blend a community neurology
staff into an academic neurology program.
